May 1, 2005 - REGINA  TMC is currently developing an upgrade to the Canadian Cancer Society, "Dialogue" web application using  Microsoft's .NET 2.0 framework and Visual Studio 2005.  This health care application will have two main components: an Internet system that is used by fifteen Cancer Information Service offices across Canada, and a public interface that will allow access to common information maintained by the Dialogue application.

The Dialogue system is bilingual intranet web application that is used by the information specialists across Canada that answer the 1-800 information line.  The Dialogue system allows the information specialists to dispense information on service locations, materials and Cancer encyclopedia articles via fax, e-mail or mail.  This gives the Cancer Information Service one central database from which to distribute up-to-date information.  In addition, the Dialogue system has a public interface to the same database.  This public Internet interface allows users to view cancer information on-line, request information about specific types of cancer, inquire about services available and research the latest treatments.
